Sample Timetable

Welcome walk

Walk from the farm to the woods. Gather round for a safety talk around the campfire.

Guided nature walk

Learn about the woodland animals, poisonous plants, habitats and eco systems. Have some child led discovery time.

Linked Activity Time

Curriculum linked activity in the centre of the forest.

Free play

Back to basecamp for plenty of child initiated play  and nature based crafts.

Marshmallow Time

Time for toasted marshmallows – (provided by us).

Open activities

Explore the mud kitchen, Create art with woodland materials and Discover woodland creatures with your forest school guide.

Packed lunch & cuppa

Please bring a packed lunch and stay for a cuppa

  • Whether you want to enrich your current topic or simply treat the children; a session on your school grounds can be an easy way to realise what you already have on your doorstep!

Health & Safety

Medical Conditions
It is important for your child’s safety, and for the safety of the group, that we are made aware of any medical conditions that he/she may have, such as asthma or allergies, and if these have not already been disclosed on your H&S form, we ask that you let us know on arrival.  Any medication brought onto the site must be given to a course leader for safe-keeping. Children must able to administer their own medication when required.

Please be aware that staff at Fir Tree Forest School are not permitted to apply sun cream to children, we ask that a high factor sun cream is applied prior to the visit, and that a labelled bottle is included in the child’s bag for them to re-apply if needed.

Clothing & Footwear
We ask all children to bring/wear the following, regardless of the weather in the morning:

  • Sturdy footwear
  • Warm clothing
  • Waterproof coat (and trousers if you have them),/li>
  • Sun hat

Fir Tree Forest School reserve the right to take photographs at its summer holiday club for promotional purposes only.  Any parent/carer wishing their child to be excluded from any such pictures must ensure that “no” is circled on the H&S form.
Personal Belongings
Fir Tree Forest School will not be held responsible for loss of personal belongings or monies.
